Cut the beef - To make the flank steak more tender, always cut against the grain. You can refer to my other post "How To Velvet Beef For Stir Fry?" There I show you how to cut the beef and how to tenderize it. Marinate the beef - Marinate it with all the ingredients. Mix well and marinate for at least 10 minutes (you can also leave it overnight). Add the cornstarch 10 minutes later.
The sauce - Mix all the ingredients. Set aside.
Prepare the vegetables - Wash and prepare the vegetables. Set aside.
Pan fry the beef - Place the oil in a large frying pan and heat over a medium-high heat.
Add the steak to the pan in a single layer (so it gets a good sear) and cook for 1 to 2 minutes on each side. When the steak is cooked, remove it from the pan.
Fry the spices - Add the remaining tablespoon of oil and the garlic to the same pan and fry for 1 minute.
Fry the vegetables - Add broccoli fry for 1 minute. Add water and cover the pan to steam the broccoli. Then add the onion and sugar snap peas for another 1 to 2 minutes.
Bring the sauce to the boil and then add the steak, bell pepper and spring onions for 2 minutes.
Add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and swirl to enhance the flavor. Remove from the heat immediately.
Serve immediately with rice. Garnish with sesame seeds.
