Fired Wonton Recipe

Fried wonton is a type of Chinese dumpling. Fried wonton recipe is usually made with pork, green onions and spices. You may pan fried wontons or air fryer wontons.

Ingredients

Wonton Filling:

  • 8 ounces ground pork
  • 4 green onions, finely chopped
  • 40 wonton wrappers
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoon Shaoxing wine, sherry wine

Instructions

Wonton:

  • In a large bowl combine the seasonings to the ground meat and stir until the meat is sticky.
  • Then add the chopped green onion and mix well.
  • Prepare a small bowl with water.
  • Sprinkle a little flour on a baking tray. So the wontons won't stick on the baking tray.
  • Dip your finger in water and run it around the edge of HALF the wrapper.
    Then fold in half to create a triangle.
    Moisten the two longer tips and bring together. Press together.
  • Repeat with remaining wontons.

To Fry

  • Fill a pan with 2” of oil and heat to 375°F.
  • Fry 6-8 of the wontons at a time for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown.
    Drain on paper towels and repeat the process with the remaining wontons.

To Air Fryer Wontons

  • Air frying is even easier, and uses less oil!
  • Brush each prepared wonton with oil or spray with cooking oil.
  • Add a single layer of wontons and cook 3-5 minutes at 375°F or just until crisp.
  • Serve hot with Chinese sweet chili sauce.
