  • 1 bunch Chinese broccoli
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce

Instructions

Chinese Broccoli In Garlic Sauce.

  • Wash Chinese broccoli first, then trim ends. Separate stems and leafy parts. The stem parts should be about 2 to 2½ inches long. Slice the stems diagonally.
(Make sure the stems are the same length so they cook well eventually. )
  • Heat the oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat, then add the garlic to the hot oil until fragrant, 1 minute.
  • Add the stalks and cook for about 2 minutes, then add 1/4 bowl water and cook the leafy parts for another 2 minutes.
  • Season with 1/4 teaspoon salt. Toss briefly. Remove from heat and transfer to a large plate.

Chinese Broccoli With Oyster Sauce.

  • Wash Chinese broccoli first, then cut off the ends. Cut them into 4" (10 cm) long pieces. If some stems are very thick, cut them in half (you want all the stems to be about the same width).
  • Bring the water to a boil and put them into steam for about 4~5 minutes. Transfer to a plate and drizzle with oyster sauce and sesame oil.
(For vegetarians, you can use vegan oyster sauce).
